Coding Connections Grade 7/8/9

Overview

Venture Academy’s  Coding Connections Grade 7/8/9 summer camp is a full-day virtual program hosted online via Zoom and Google Classroom. Each student will receive a STEM Kit mailed to their front door to support project completion!

Coding Connections Grade 7/8/9  is a captivating and innovative STEM camp which launches students into the applications of coding in software engineering  through hands-on activities!

Students in this program will apply concepts in computer science and coding through the following opportunities: virtual projects with digital skill building activities, mentorship opportunities and engineering design through exploration.

The program has 2-hours of live engagement in the morning, followed by 1.5-hours of live engagement in the afternoon. The content will be recorded for students who are unable to attend the live sessions.

This camp program is developed and taught by undergraduate students enrolled in McMaster University’s Faculty of Engineering programs and is also supported by McMaster University professors and staff members. Additionally, this program is supported by McMaster Start Coding Club.

The one-week program is offered for eight different weeks of the summer. The content is repeated for all weeks of the summer. Please note “Week 5” is a 4-day week due to the Monday holiday.

Students entering Grade 7, 8 or 9 as of September 2022 should enroll in this program.

Venture Academy follows all COVID-19 Safety Protocols as outlined by McMaster University.
