About Go Eng Girl

McMaster Engineering is hosting a virtual Go ENG Girl event on October 24, 2020 for students in grades 7-10. Students will join the event via Zoom, and use a virtual circuit builder to develop their own electrical engineering project. Students will be building a virtual Light Sensor device, and then write code in C++ to control the circuit. The project will model a biomedical device that responds to prolonged UV exposure. This exciting project will help expose participants to the fields of electrical engineering, computer science, and biomedical engineering, as well as how they can use technology to solve everyday problems and create devices used to help society.

Project Description

Participants will get the chance to develop their own electrical engineering project by building and simulating a biomedical device online. We will be building a virtual Light Sensor device, using the TinkerCAD virtual circuit builder, and then write code in C++ to control the circuit. The project will model a biomedical device that responds to prolonged UV exposure. This exciting project will help expose participants to the fields of electrical engineering, computer science, and biomedical engineering, as well as how they can use technology to solve everyday problems and create devices used to help society.

Project Requirements : Please set up a Zoom account in advance of our event and join the event call 10-15 minutes early. Please create an account on tinkercad.com, as we will be using this website to complete our project. It is recommended that participants use a computer (not a tablet) to complete the project.
